Indian Pet Industry on Steady Incline

With US$ 47.32 million in its kitty and a 15-20 percent annual growth, the Indian pet industry holds enormous potential for its stakeholders.

According to industry estimates, the Indian pet food market is projected to have crossed the 50,000 tonne-mark and it is estimated that 30 percent of this market comprises imported products.

With changes in lifestyles, economic growth and amplified disposable incomes, pet adoptions in the country have increased dramatically, giving rise to the elevated demand and sale of pet products..

Pet fairs like the India International Pet Trade Fair (IIPTF) act as much needed forums for importers and exporters within the pet industry to congregate under one roof, interact, discuss, network and forge important business relationships.

Not only does an international pet fair act as a trade event between different countries but also between various segments of the pet industry. It performs the role of a business to business playground of commerce, while also addressing the demands of business to customer dynamics.

An event of this sort endeavours to extend a podium to all players of the Indian pet industry to showcase their products and services, provide international and Indian business delegates with broader exposure to Indian pet products and services, offer foreign delegates the opportunity to experience the enthusiasm of pet ownership in India as well as promote India as a major contributor to the global pet milieu.

Furthermore, these trade exhibitions render opportunities to domestic visitors and exhibitors alike, to engender joint venture manufacturing enterprises using foreign technology. They also represent prospects to foreign manufacturers to find suitable Indian distributors for the dissemination of their products and services in India.
