The Italian pet supplies market continues to grow |

Constant, robust growth in the Italian pet supplies sector. Over the last five years the market has grown by over 30% exceeding, in 2005, a turnover of 2 billion euros at production values.
Centro Studi Zoomark, the show's market research centre specialised in surveys on the pet supplies sector, has published a preview of the 2005-2006 report which will be presented at the opening of Zoomark International 2007. Pet food, with a prevalent weight of products for dogs and cats, was confirmed in 2005 as the most important segment in the sector, with a value of over 1,400 million euros and an average annual increase in production, over the last five years, of 6.4%. Positive performance also in the sales of pet care and comfort supplies which account for one fifth of the market, with a turnover worth more than 420 million euros in 2005. In the pet care segment, the largest share goes to cat litter, with a value of over 86 million euros, while sales of health care products are around 65 million euros. www.zoomark.it 27th July 2006
