 Sizoo will be held from the 20th to the 23rd of September 2007 in hall 8 of Montjuïc
SIZOO, the International Show for Pet Professionals, organised by Fira de Barcelona, which will be held from the 20th to the 23rd of September 2007 in hall 8 of the Montjuïc exhibition centre, has appointed Carlos Argenté, Delegate Councillor of Affinity and current president of ANFAAC, as president of the show. Once again, SIZOO will present the proposals of over 120 national and foreign exhibitors, in a gross exhibition area of 31,000 square metres. The event will showcase practically everything on the market related to pets with a wide representation from all sectors: aquaria, terrariums, articles for cats and dogs, birds and other small animals, outdoor equipment as well as press and technical media. The fourteenth SIZOO will also host an intensive programme of events related to various aspects of the sector, such as the new Products Contest, the 2nd Sizoo International Grooming Show, aquariophilia activities, canine fashion shows and technical conferences. SIZOO has been consolidated as one of the most important European market places of this sector. It is visited by wholesalers, distributors, importers and technicians interested in marketing new products on an international scale. The show has the collaboration of the most prestigious organisations of the sector, such as the Asociación Nacional de Fabricantes de Alimentos para Animales de Compañía, ANFAAC; the Asociación de Veterinarios Especialistas en Pequeños Animales, AVEPA; the Real Sociedad Canina de España and the Asociación Empresarial Española de la Industria de Sanidad y Nutrición Animal, Veterindustria, among others. The pet sector has grown considerably in recent years. Last year the pet food and pet care market in Spain had a turnover of more than 850 million euros. Articles related to pet welfare have also increased considerably. These data have had a positive effect on SIZOO, a show which receives more and more professionals working in this sector. Another indisputable asset of SIZOO is that it is held in Barcelona, the best location because Catalonia represents 30% of pet care sales in Spain. The excellence of Barcelona as a venue is also evident when we look at the location of the head offices of companies in the sector. In addition, Fira de Barcelona is a powerful platform of activity and economic promotion at the service of companies and their international reach, which generates wealth in Barcelona, Catalonia and Spain. It follows a tradition of more than 100 years, which began with the Universal Exhibition of 1888. Fira de Barcelona holds 80 trade fairs a year with 30,000 exhibitors and receives 3.5 million visitors. It has 15 trade fairs that are benchmark events in Europe and organises 75 % of Spain´s major industrial and professional trade shows.
